Family Resource Associates (FRA): Turning Paperwork into Progress

In New Jersey, Family Resource Associates (FRA) supports adults with developmental disabilities through day habilitation, skills training, and community engagement. When FRA adopted Kibu, they found a platform that finally “spoke their language.”

Program Director Alexis Spektor shared that Kibu made documentation faster, more accurate, and easier to monitor, freeing staff to spend more time with participants rather than on paperwork. FRA’s team also embraced Kibu’s content, integrating fitness and social skills videos that reflect their clients’ real experiences.

Little City Foundation in Illinois offers programs for individuals with disabilities that emphasize choice, creativity, and community. With Kibu, they have found a way to make each day more engaging, structured, and empowering.

For Cortney Lucente, Director of Day Services, Kibu filled a long-standing gap, offering flexible, age-appropriate content for adults. From live trivia and chair yoga to skill-building videos, Kibu has become a trusted tool that brings joy and purpose into daily programming.

Direct Support Professional Laura Barroso has seen the difference firsthand. Her group uses Kibu’s live classes to start each day with laughter, confidence, and connection. “These little moments matter,” she shared. “They build confidence and make someone’s whole day.”

The Arc Gateway: Sparking Creativity and Confidence Through Connection

At The Arc Gateway in Florida, the mission to promote choice, creativity, and connection comes to life every day. Serving over 1,200 individuals across five program sites, the team has adopted Kibu to make learning engaging, flexible, and fun.

For Program Coordinator Angela Villarreal and her team, Kibu quickly became a go-to resource for both staff and participants. “We were drawn to the variety of live sessions, fitness, life skills, and games,” shared COO Cathy Lauterbach. “It felt like something we could use right away.”

From trivia games that inspire laughter to book clubs sparked by Kibu videos, The Arc Gateway team has seen how content can transform into creativity. “Kibu pushed us to think differently about how we teach and engage,” said Angela. “It’s inspired us to do more.”

The benefits go beyond programming staff now save time with pre-built lessons, while participants build confidence, independence, and social connections. “Our clients love the coaches,” Angela added. “When they get a shout-out during a live stream, it means the world.”
